Telephone Psychotherapy
How to start
Telephone counselling or therapy works on similar principles to face to face therapy sessions. These sessions can also be conducted using SKYPE.
Each phone call counts as a consultation and lasts 50 minutes, unless prior arrangements have been made.
We would agree for a phone consultation to take place at a pre-appointed time.
You might have identified a topic in advance for discussion or you might decide what to talk about at the time.
How to start and method of payment?
The first thing to do is to ring me to check whether telephone therapy can be of assistance for you or this can be discussed and arranged in face to face sessions.
You can ask any questions you might have about how phone therapy works.
Once we have agreed for a session or sessions to take place via phone therapy, an arrangement will be made for the first phone consultation to occur at a pre-arranged time.
Payment for consultations must be received one week in advance of the consultation and how this payment will take place will be confirmed at this time.
At the end of the first consultation, we would discuss whether to make more phone consultation times.
Why telephone therapy?
It can be useful for people living in areas where it is difficult to arrange suitable face to face therapy.
For people who travel as part of their work.
For people whose schedules make attending all face to face appointments difficult.
It is helpful and often appropriate, to arrange some face to face or email consultations if phone therapy is to be ongoing.
